 Hyundai Verna: The Verna from Hyundai is a very popular car which was originally introduced by Hyundai in 2006.The 1.6 litre diesel engine is available in automatic transmission in addition to manual transmission. This engine drives very comfortably on the highways and you can easily cruise around 100 kmph with the car doing 1500 rpm. The noise levels are remarkably low. Price: Rs 11 lakhs.


Volkswagen Vento: The Vento is another diesel automatic car in the sedan segment. The new face lifted model is now available with a 1.5 litre diesel engine which is mated to a seven speed DSG unit apart from the 5 speed manual one. The 1498 cc engine generates 103 bhp of power at a maximum torque value of 250 Nm. The Vento is further available in three trim levels – Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. The high end automatic diesel variant costs Rs 10.94 lakhs approximately.

Skoda Rapid: The Skoda Rapid has three diesel automatic variants named Ambition Plus, the Elegance and the Elegance black which are priced at Rupees 10.49, 10.84 and 10.98 respectively. Powered by a 1498 cc engine that churns out a power of 104 bhp and a maximum torque of 250 Nm, this engine has a 7 speed automatic transmission. The approximate mileage is around 21.14 kmpl. The features of the Skoda Rapid include many standard features.

Skoda Octavia: The Skoda Octavia AT starts from a price tag of Rs. 17.75 lakh and has got many stylish changes in its interior as well as exterior. The Octavia AT has an impressive list of features. The 1968 cc turbocharged 2.0-litre engine generates a power of 143 bhp and comes with an advanced DSG gearbox that offers quick changes. The ARAI rated economy of 20 kmpl is less than a few of the rivals around.
